Short Breaks for Children with SEND

MASKK are contracted by Sheffield City Council (SNIPS) to provide fun clubs and activities for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

All our staff have training and experience of supporting children with a wide range of needs and support requirements. Places are provided at different levels and can include 1 to 1 support when needed. Our training includes Safety Intervention Working to enable us to be confident in supporting a variety of young people.

Term Time
Children with disabilities are welcome to attend the After School Club, and join us for activities with children from the local schools, and can include collection from school (if attending a school we already collect children from). These sessions are open from 3:30pm until 6pm.
On a Saturday during term time we have a club open from 10am until 3pm during which we provide a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, messy play, computer games, group games, visits to parks and more.

School Holidays
During the holidays we are open 3 days a week (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday), 10am until 3pm, and like the Saturday club offer a range of activities as well as outings to local parks and playgrounds.

How to join?

These sessions are for children and young people aged 5+ and are on a referral basis through the Children with Disabilities Team at Sheffield City Council.

Parents and carers can refer themselves to the service by contacting SNIPS: 0114 273 5368 or SnipsBusinessSupport@sheffield.gov.uk.
A parent/carer can apply for a short break activity – this could also be after school, a direct payment and/or befriending – or a short break activity.
