About us
In July 1999, a public meeting was held at Manor Community Shop to assess whether there was demand for an after-school club in the Manor area, following the success of local projects supporting local people into work and training. After consultation with the public and advice from Sheffield Out of School Network, the club opened in September 2000 in the Standhouse centre. It stayed there until 2001, when the project moved into the purpose-built Manor Community Childcare Centre. We remained at the childcare centre until 2013, when we moved to The Steel Inn, and stayed there until 2016, when we needed to move into the larger space at the then-named William Temple Church. We’ve worked with Manor Church & Community Project to support them in developing and transforming the building into the now-named Temple Park Centre. We enjoy our own dedicated space and then access to the large hall when we need greater room to play.
Over the years, MASKK has evolved into what it is today. We became a registered charity on 27 August 2009, and since then, we have begun delivering many more projects. We are governed by a Constitution and led by a group of Trustees.
Our Charity was set up with a purpose in mind, with a mission statement, aims and objectives.
“Working in the local community with the MASKK team is always such positive experience, and everyone involved puts their heart and soul into what they do. It’s a privilege to get to know the local families who we come into contact with, and having the opportunity to make somebody’s day a bit ‘brighter’ ,is the best part of what we do.” Claire, MASKK Playworker
“I know myself and Sioned welcome the fact that MASKK the long established and trusted organisation is able to continue its valuable service to the good residents of Manor Castle Ward.” Councillor Terry Fox
Our Mission
“To work towards the enhancement of the lives of the local children living in the Manor area aged five and over, regardless of wealth, religion, gender, race, background or ability.”
Our Senior Team
Our Senior Team work hard to deliver all the projects MASKK offers. Term time there will be one of us onsite from 12:30pm until 6:30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm Saturdays or during school holidays 8am until 6:30pm. Not sure who you need? Then email our shared inbox – letsplay@maskk.org.uk and someone will get back in touch.

Become a volunteer. Or Young Helper from age 14+
Volunteering for local groups and charities is a great way of giving back to the local community. Volunteering can help individuals gain experience and skills that might help you seek employment, build your confidence, or to apply for that promotion.
MASKK believe that volunteers should receive something back in return and in addition to the great feeling you get from being part of the community we offer a volunteer training package.
Would you like to work with children and spend a session having fun and joining in with games and activities? Or perhaps you would love to help prepare yummy snacks in the kitchen. Maybe you have HR expereince you are willing to share? We have a varity of roles, supporting us as a parent helper, volunteer or Trustee. Click below to find out more.
