The children and young people attending have been able to take part in various activities including:

The Weather

These three weeks have been a little stranger than normal weatherwise and so we’ve adapted and prepared in the following ways.

All our team have been reminded of summer first aid, looking out for sun and heat stroke.

During generally warm/hot weather we have continued to remind children to drink fluids, each snack and meal time filling bottles and offering other choices. We have applied sun cream and worn hats. We’ve bought more paracels for the garden to create shade, and enjoyed water play responsibly.

When there has been an amber warning regarding heat we have covered the windows, reduced the time outside/visits to parks, had an hourly reminder to drink more and increased ventilation as much as possible. We’ve also had ‘quiet times’ with movies and tablets to break up the running about.

If there was to be another red warning we would offer parents the ability to cancel on the same day to reduce numbers and staff not required could stay home and complete some training.

If you’ve got any questions about MASKK’s extreme weather procedures please contact Craig.
