I wish to thank the majority of you who continue to book in advance and communicate cancellations and changes but unfortunately there is still a large number who are not.
Bookings:
Please remember to book places for the After School Club by the previous Friday or 2:30pm Saturday at the latest. After this time we plan and book the escorts needed based on the numbers booked in for collection. We also prepare and send the bookings to schools.
Bookings are open now until the Summer Holidays – so please select the length of time you’d like to book for. Easter holidays are already open for booking too.
I have been working 7 days a week the past year to organise this on a Sunday due to late and last minute bookings to try to be as flexible as we could. However we can no longer sustain this and so it needs to be completed on a Saturday when myself or Kirsty can complete it. This means after 2:30pm on a Saturday you will not be able to book Mondays as we will not have time to organise additional escorts.
MASKK can also not afford to book escorts unless we know we need them, and the escorts need notice so they can plan their week or accept work elsewhere.
Looking at the numbers booked this coming week means we only need one escort for Prince Edward and St Theresa’s Schools all week meaning a maximum of 4 children per day but I know more of you may need a place so book fast.
MASKK still aim to be flexible during the week if we have places available based on the escorts booked that week. So Magicbooking will allow you to book up to 48 hours in advance if there are places left, or you can call or text us (if texting a booking is not confirmed until we reply and you receive confirmation email from MagicBooking). Please avoid using email to request bookings incase I am on leave.

As a reminder during term time the after school club team work:Mondays: 12:30pm – 6:30pm and Tuesdays to Fridays 1:30pm – 6:30pm. Between 2:40pm and 3:40pm we may not be able to answer the phones due to being on pick up, please text instead.
We’ve had comments from parents saying they didn’t know about some of the special activities or when holiday bookings were open and so missed out on places. Please check you have opted in to sms and emails from MASKK in your MagicBooking Account. Also add info@maskk.org.uk to your safe sender list as emails could be ending up in your junk.
Cancelling:
We’ve had difficulties because parents have failed to cancel and so our team have to follow the lost child procedure until we know where they are. One session before half term we had 4 children at one school who hadn’t canceled meaning we sent an escort who wasn’t needed. You can cancel 72 hours in advance via MagicBooking and receive a full refund. If you need to cancel after this texting is the simplest way, but you may still be charged as per our fees and charges policy.
Parents who fail to cancel will still have to pay the session fee, but as per our fee policy we reserve the right to add a none cancelation fee too. We would prefer not to do this so please remember to cancel, even a quick text will help. By canceling another child might be able to take the place too. I have received a few queries about bills seeming too high, this is sometimes because you did not cancel sessions and so we will expect payment.
MASKK will continue to review our bookings and cancellations procedures with the aim of continuing to be flexible, however please note we are the most flexible we’ve seen with many expecting parents to book and pay each half term in advance.
