Hello,

We hope you and the children have all enjoyed the summer so far, we’ve had a great first half of the holidays with some great highlights. You can see some of the highlights here https://www.maskk.org.uk/summer-holidays-part-one/

At the end of the summer we intend to publish a photo album on our website, with some videos too, so that you can all see the fantastic times we’ve been having. Please check your your child’s permissions are correct for use of photos on their profile [site]

There are just a few other bits to note:

  1. Pack Lunches – children need a packed lunch each day, on Tuesdays we go out and about so it’s important this is something that can be eaten without preparation too. In the event a parent forgets don’t worry, we keep a supply of items to whip one up.
  2. Evening Meals – Those booked in until 6pm are provided with a meal, usually served at 5:15pm. On a Wednesday we have a chief preparing the meal with the children aged 8 and over and so it isn’t served until 5:30pm. We are having a bit of food waste because children are going home just before meals are served. It would be great if you could let us know if your child will not be staying for the meal (some of the children do tell us already)
  3. Closing Time – in the holidays we close at 6pm (6:30pm is term time only).
  4. Cancellations – if your child is going to miss a session please tell us, a text message is fine. We are full most days with a waiting list for places.
  5. Tuesday 30th August – we had planned to go on a larger trip but unfortunately the logistics have made this not possible. However instead we will have a fun packed day here at MASKK. We’ll be booking some guest visitors to bring some entertainment and excitement.
  6. Last day of holidays – Wednesday 31st August is the last day of the holiday club. We then re-open for after school club on Monday 5th September. Please make sure your bookings are in for the after school club by the 1st September for the first week to allow us to plan ahead.
  7. Phone Calls/Emails – during the holidays we often miss phone calls sorry (we don’t have any office time in the holiday as we’re with the children all day) so we’d suggest a text message if your query is quick and we’ll reply when one of the team get chance. Otherwise someone will return your call / email when able. (Term time we’re in from 1pm)

If you happen to be having a clear out of toys and games please consider donating them to MASKK. Any we are not able to use, or do not need, we then pass to ECHO for other local families to benefit.

finally, if you’ve not seen already a local person, Kerry Pacey, is trekking across the Sahara desert this November and aiming to raise £800 to support MASKK and S2 Food bank, please click here to learn more https://bit.ly/3QOBlMD
