Help Lead MASKK Into Its Next Chapter
MASKK is seeking an inspiring and committed Chair of Trustees to lead our Board as we enter an exciting new phase of development.
Our current Chair is coming to the end of a successful four‑year term, during which MASKK has strengthened its playwork‑based services, expanded community connections, and continued to provide high‑quality, Ofsted‑registered childcare and play opportunities for local children. We are now looking for someone who can build on this foundation and guide us through the delivery of our next three‑year strategy.
About the Role
As Chair, you will:
• Lead a committed and skilled Board of Trustees
• Work closely with our CEO to provide strategic direction and good governance
• Ensure our organisation remains a safe, inclusive, and impactful place for children to play and grow
• Champion playwork principles and high‑quality wraparound childcare
• Help strengthen our voice within the local community and beyond
• Support the Board to function effectively and confidently
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who believes in the power of play, values community‑led services, and wants to make a real difference to children and families in Sheffield.
Who We’re Looking For

• A commitment to MASKK’s mission, values, and playwork ethos
• Confidence in leading discussions and supporting others
• A collaborative, inclusive approach
• Willingness to learn about governance, safeguarding, and Ofsted expectations (training provided)
• An interest in helping shape and deliver our next three‑year organisational strategy
Volunteer Time Commitment
Around 6 to 8 hours a month, including Board meetings, preparation time, and occasional events.
