We often work together with partners to bring a variety of activities for children, their families and the wider community. Unfortunately, the funding we have accessed for the previous 4 years, Health Activities and Food (HAF Healthy Holidays), has made the criteria stricter and the process more difficult, which means if we accepted a grant, we would only be able to allow children with an HAF code to attend. We would also risk not receiving full payment if people booked but did not attend, leaving the charity financially vulnerable.

This means there will be no additional sessions or a community pantomime due to tightened HAF funding and a lack of available grants for universal activities for children. However, we are pooling our limited resources to create a small number of activities that are open to all, embracing the spirit of the season to bring joy and build community. Some of these are only possible thanks to donations and volunteers giving their time.

Some other good news is that we are pleased to have received a grant, awarded by SYMCA and administered by the Safer Sheffield Partnership and the VRU, to support community activities until March that aim to help the community feel safer and more connected. More news on these activities will be announced soon, working closely with Green Estate and connecting with Manor Fields Park.

For now, in December, we have the upcoming activities and events detailed below.

SNIPS Short Breaks Christmas Parties

The members of our Saturday clubs will get to enjoy a party with special guests and lots of seasonal fun.

SEND Sundays – Volunteer-led group for children with SEND & their families.

Sunday 21st December, 12 pm until 2 pm, the amazing volunteers will host their last session of 2025, with special visitors, Mr and Mrs Claus, in their pop-up grotto, giving time away from their busy schedules.

On 7th December, the children enjoyed a Polar Express-themed day. Each session, the volunteers go above and beyond to bring excitement and joy for the children, and this session was no different.

Whole Family Come & Play – FREE to attend – Join MASKK, MCCP and Manor Parish for seasonal crafts, lunch and play.

Monday 22nd December, 11 am until 3 pm at Temple Park Centre. We expect it will be a busy and loud environment which might not be suitable for all children. Special guests, Mr and Mrs Clause, will still be with us to meet the children and families.
Funded entirely by donations and staff giving their time for free.
