Short Breaks 2026 to 2027

Sheffield City Council continue to commission MASKK to continue our Short Breaks. Please be aware that the dates below are chosen by Sheffield City Council based on the Sheffield School Holiday calendar (it doesn’t take into account inset days).

See the dates below for your child’s group. Snacks and fruit are available at each session, but remember to bring and label:

• A packed lunch (for tips and ideas, visit https://www.nhs.uk/healthier-families/recipes/healthier-lunchboxes/)
• A water bottle
• Spare clothes – we love to get outside, which can often be messy, so please dress your child accordingly and provide spares
• Any medication
• Personal Hygiene products as required

These sessions are commissioned by Sheffield City Council for children with special educational needs and disabilities to come together and play, providing parents and carers with a brief respite. If you enjoy spending time outdoors our local area has lovely parks and green spaces to explore.

Please be aware that our groups run at full capacity, with a waiting list, and so it is not possible to move missed sessions.

If your child will miss a session, please notify us. If a child misses three consecutive sessions without notifying us, SNIPS may instruct us to terminate their service and offer the place to a child on the waiting list. 

If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Our Short Breaks Manager is April and can be contacted during sessions by phone at 0114 2395739. Or our Short Breaks Administrator will be in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 pm until 3:30 pm.

Saturday Dates

The Saturday Club runs from 10 am until 3 pm and is term-time only; there’s no session on Saturdays at the start or end of each school holiday week.

The weeks are swapped after the Christmas break to spread out the sessions.

This group enjoys more sensory activities with additional support for personal care available. We love messy play, so please send spare clothes!

Thursday Group

This group likes playing, being active, and being creative together in a slighter louder environment.
