About us
MASKK is a growing local charity, started in 1999 by local people, that provides a range of activities for children and families in the Manor and Castle area of Sheffield. Our services include affordable childcare, kids clubs, family activities, short breaks for children with disabilities, events and volunteering opportunities.
“Working in the local community with the MASKK team is always such positive experience, and everyone involved puts their heart and soul into what they do. It’s a privilege to get to know the local families who we come into contact with, and having the opportunity to make somebody’s day a bit ‘brighter’ ,is the best part of what we do.” Claire, MASKK Playworker
“I know myself and Sioned welcome the fact that MASKK the long established and trusted organisation is able to continue its valuable service to the good residents of Manor Castle Ward.” Councillor Terry Fox

Our Story
In July 1999, a public meeting was held at Manor Community Shop to look into whether there was a demand for an afterschool club in the Manor area after the success of local projects supporting local people into work and training. After consultation with the public and advice from Sheffield Out of School Network, the club opened in September 2000 in the Standhouse centre and stayed there until 2001 when the project moved into the purpose-built Manor Community Childcare Centre. We remained in the childcare centre until 2013, when we moved to The Steel Inn, until 2016 when we needed to move into the larger space at the then named William Temple Church. We’ve worked with Manor Church & Community Project to support them to develop and transform the building into the now named Temple Park Centre. We enjoy our own dedicated space and then access to the large hall when we need greater room to play.
Throughout the years MASKK has changed and developed into what it is now. We became a registered charity on 27 August 2009 and since then started to deliver many more projects. We are governed by a Constitution and lead by a group of Trustees.
Our Charity was set up with a purpose in mind, with a mission statement, aims and objectives

Become a volunteer! Or Young Helper from age 14+
Volunteering for local groups and charities is a great way of giving back to the local community. MASKK believe that volunteers should receive something back in return and in addition to the great feeling you get from being part of a child’s life we offer a volunteer training package.
Would you like to work with children and spend a session having fun and joining in with games and activities? Yes. Here, you are welcome to join our team and you can support us as a parent helper, volunteer or Trustee.
